Voter Challenges Underway In Truro

Voter registration challenges began Monday afternoon in Truro.

The hearings, which are expected to last through mid-week, involved 66 cases, and come after a taxpayer's group called on its members to change their registration to the municipality.

In August, the Truro Part-time Resident Taxpayers Association called on its membership to change their registration to Truro to vote in a special town meeting, a move since ruled illegal under Massachusetts law.

The Board of Registrars must determine the eligibility of each voter, before the town meeting can take place, which has since been rescheduled for November 16th.
