Blood drives are being held across the Cape this month.
Both Cape Cod and Falmouth Hospitals are in urgent need-both must keep a week's worth of blood on hand at all times, but each collected unit only has a shelf life of 42 days.
Cape Cod Healthcare held its first drive Wednesday in Harwich-today there will be a drawing at Sencorp White in Hyannis.
The Brewster Police Department will host a drive on the 8th, with Falmouth Hospital holding one on the 10th.
