Cardinal Sean O'Malley is calling on Massachusetts area Roman Catholic parishes and members to help migrant families.
The leader of the Archdiocese of Boston is ordering priests to be ready and willing to help migrant families that continue to arrive in the state each day.
O'Malley says people need to act now before the need becomes overwhelming.
Governor Maura Healey announced last week that the state can no longer guarantee shelter for homeless and migrant families because the shelter system is exhausted.
