A fire broke out Saturday night at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility but resulted in no injuries or damage.
The county sheriff's office says an officer discovered the kitchen area full of smoke while on duty at around 11:30 p.m.
He found a pile of rags smoldering on a metal car by the kitchen office and quickly put them out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
