Republican State Representative Steve Xiarhos is among several state lawmakers calling on President Biden to address immigration reform.
Their letter to the president points to the growing national crises of an overwhelmed shelter system and the need to expedite asylum seekers into the workforce.
Xiarhos has also filed a bill to change the state's Right to Shelter Act to narrow the eligibility window for assistance to U.S. citizens only.
