Local Commission Issues Statement Against Hate

The Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission has approved a public statement against hate, citing "intolerance and hateful language" at recent protests against temporary migrant housing.

Residents have sounded off about the emergency shelter plan under Governor Maura Healey's administration in Bourne and Yarmouth.

There was a protest featuring both sides of the issue on Saturday outside of the Seaport Resort and Marina in Fairhaven, which has migrants staying in twenty rooms.

WPRI-TV interviewed former Bristol County sheriff Thomas Hodgson, who claimed that the emergency shelter program is overburdening our infrastructure.
