More Migrant Families Enter State- Region

Over 12 hundred families have entered the emergency shelter system since Governor Maura Healey declared a state of emergency August seventh.

State officials say there are currently close to 68 hundred families in the shelter system, driven by a surge in newly arrived migrants.

There were 55 hundred families in the shelter system on the day the emergency was declared.

Healey has deployed the Massachusetts National Guard to help provide staffing at shelter sites.
