A special town meeting in Wellfleet approved creating a town planner position which would carry an annual salary and benefits.
An election to fund the position at 145-thousand dollars per year will be held on September 27th.
Wellfleet Select Board chair Barbara Carboni, who works at the town planner in Truro, tells the Cape Cod Times that Wellfleet is having trouble moving forward on a lot of projects because they don't have the staffing.
