The Cape and Islands are under a Tropical Storm Watch for Hurricane Lee.
The National Weather Service is predicting that Lee will not make a local landfall, but instead will make a close pass east of Cape Cod this weekend.
The storm surge for the Cape and Islands is predicted to range from two to four feet.
Meantime, Hurricane Lee has caused the cancelation of Cape Cod Canal Day.
The Canal Region Chamber of Commerce says they made a difficult decision to cancel the annual festival based on the weather forecast and advice from local and state officials.
The event at Buzzards Bay Park will not be rescheduled. It will return next September.
