Governor Says State Seeks Services For Immigrants

An update on a story that we have been following for you.

At the beginning of August, the Yarmouth Resort unexpectedly raised rent from 300 to 700 dollars a week, which in turn priced many low-income residents out of the market.

And now after it was revealed that 80 to 100 undocumented migrants through the state-run shelter program would be taking their place there, many were outraged and began protesting.

Some residents say they feel betrayed by both the country and the town.

Some say the country's priorities are backward.

Local officials, however, say that they received almost no warning or help from state officials.

Healey says her administration is addressing rapidly rising numbers of migrant families who are arriving in Massachusetts in need of shelter and services.
