Officials at the Woods Hole Terminal of the Massachusetts Steamship Authority report that one of the ferries broke lose from the docks yesterday afternoon.
It happened about 5pm.
Officials tell us that it broke away from the dock at the Falmouth Docks.
It appears that it drifted for a short period of time and then stopped near the Oceanographic Institution.
The vessel was not in service at the time. There was no damage done.
The incident will not affect any service or routes.
