Senator Wants Info On Importance Of Cape Cod Bridges

Senator Elizabeth Warren spent a lot of time on The Cape wanting to hear from various people about the importance of both Cape Bridges.

The Senator says that are critically important to getting 35 million people on and off The Cape each year.

Both the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges are 90 years old, and they need lots of work.

She has asked Town Managers to reply by August 2 so she can begin making the case.

According to the latest federal mark-up, The Sagamore Bridge is considered to be in fair condition and the Bourne Bridge is what they consider "structurally deficient."

The Cape gets about 5 million visitors each year- and all of them use one of the bridges.
