The Massachusetts Audubon Society is asking boaters to be aware of sea turtles.
The nonprofit organization says the turtles can be difficult to identify from a vessel.
They might look like a patch of floating seaweed.
In what was described as a rare sighting, a loggerhead turtle was recently reported swimming below the surface of Buzzards Bay.
Unfortunately, two turtle deaths were also reported from a boat strike in Wareham.
