Protest Over Artificial Turf Ends On Martha's Vineyard

A voter protest appears to have ended on Martha's Vineyard.

The Vineyard Gazette reports a tense standoff between the school district and the up-Island towns over an artificial turf lawsuit was ended when Chilmark voters approved the regional budget at a special town meeting this week.

The school board has pledged to settle the lawsuit and not use any of the 2024 budget for a legal challenge.
