Cape Cod has gotten its first great white shark alert of the season.
According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, the apex predator was spotted Friday about a quarter-mile offshore from North Beach Island in Chatham.
The conservancy is encouraging beach-goers to stay up-to-date on shark sightings by downloading the Sharktivity App.
