They’re back: black bears are being spotted in southeastern Massachusetts again.
This time, in more of an urban setting.
Massachusetts Environmental Police say they’re trying to locate, and then relocate, a black bear spotted in the city of Fall River.
The agency is urging people to take precautions - like keeping bird feeders, chickens, bee hives and livestock out of reach.
The south coast has seen a number of black bear sightings over the past couple of years last year, including one named “boo-boo” in 2021 that became a local media sensation.
Even Cape Cod had a black bear sighting back in 2012.
Residents are asked to avoid the 5000 block of North Main St. if possible.
