A report from The New York Times is shedding light on the federal case against Massachusetts Air National Guard member Jack Teixeira.
The 21-year-old from Dighton, who was stationed at Joint Base Cape Cod, is charged with unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information and unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents.
The Times reviewed thousands of messages from Teixeira on the social media site Discord dating back to 2021.
They indicated an anti-government point of view, and he shared conspiracy theories such as the U.S. government orchestrating mass shootings.
Teixeira allegedly also shared U.S. intelligence secrets related to the war in Ukraine soon after the Russian invasion on February 24th, 2022.
