The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office says a Barnstable County grand jury has indicted Aneka Brown of Harwich for second-degree murder.
Brown allegedly stabbed Akeem Drysdale, who was also from Harwich, last November at the Stonehorse dormitories on Route 28.
Brown was originally arrested for manslaughter.
She was arraigned on the upgraded charge Monday in Barnstable Superior Court.
A detention hearing is scheduled for later today.
