Researchers are investigating what caused a frozen shark to wash ashore on Cape Cod.
The Thresher Shark was found on Eastham’s First Encounter Beach.
Biologist Michelle Passerotti told the Boston Herald that sharks washing ashore aren't uncommon during the winter.
Scientists collected samples to better understand the creature's age and cause of death.
Passerotti said the shark could have gotten trapped in the cold shallows when the tide went out.
