An Oak Bluffs Police Sergeant says he intends to sue after he was forced to resign over a missing rifle from the police department, according to the MV Times.
Sgt. Michael Marchand was told to resign or be fired after he reported the rifle missing during an internal audit of the department’s firearms.
Marchand later rescinded his resignation but was kept on administrative leave.
Marchand’s attorney say he was wrongly accused of being responsible for the missing weapon, which was later discovered at the department.
