A bill that would impact a proposed machine gun range at Joint Base Cape Cod was in focus at a hearing on Beacon Hill this week.
State Senator Susan Moran testified before the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture that her legislation would protect the upper Cape's water supply and ensure the public has a voice.
The bill would require local public hearings and approval from the Cape Cod Commission and other councils for any proposed project on JBCC which involves the clearing of a large area of forestland.
