A well is being taken offline in the Sandwich Water District.
The Enterprise reports the action came after samples taken from the well in East Sandwich tested positive for PFAS contaminants.
Water District Superintendent Daniel Mahoney says the well will be offline until the PFAS can be treated or eliminated.
Mahoney said the area of Sandwich serviced by the well has not experienced water shortages, as other wells in the town were able to provide adequate support.
