The Steamship Authority plans to continue 5:30 a.m. freight runs out of Woods Hole.
The Steamship Authority Board of Governors voted 4-to-1 in favor of the move at a meeting last week, with Falmouth’s representative the lone "no" vote.
However, the Board also directed the Steamship Authority to seek bids for companies that would be willing to instead ship the freight that goes to Martha’s Vineyard from the port of New Bedford, or possibly somewhere else off-Cape.
The early-morning freight runs have been generating complaints from nearby residents for years.
