Provincetown Lifts Mask Mandate, But State Enforces School Mandate

Provincetown is lifting its indoor mask mandate.

The requirement went into effect in July following a Coronavirus cluster which led to hundreds of cases.

Provincetown Town Manager Alex Morse says he made the decision to replace the mandate with an advisory based on downward trends in Covid data.

Meanwhile, everyone five and older in state-licensed day care, after school or so-called out-of-school programs in Massachusetts must wear a mask effective after Labor Day.

Additionally, it's strongly suggested that children between the ages of 2-5 wear masks as well indoors.
