Vineyard Wind is getting another green light from the federal government.
NOAA has awarded the company an incidental harassment authorization which allows the company to carry the renewable energy project out even though there is a possibility it will harm marine life.
However, neither the federal agency nor vineyard wind expect serious injury or death to marine life to result.
The industrial-scale wind farm south of Martha’s Vineyard is planning to connect to the state’s energy grid in 2023.
