During a meeting Tuesday night the Falmouth Select Board members gave the green light for Mayflower Wind to conduct testing at two town beaches to determine the feasibility of landing cables from the proposed 800 megawatt wind farm south of the Vineyard at the sites.
The approval came after a presentation by the company as to the exact testing to be performed, which primarily consists of soil testing.
Some neighbors wrote expressing concerns about possible health hazards, but the board approved the testing at Surf Drive and Falmouth Heights beaches.
