The Mashpee man who died while hiking in New Hampshire over the weekend has been identified as Joseph Gormley.
The hiker was on Mount Jefferson on Saturday when he reportedly suffered an unexpected medical condition.
Reports indicate other hikers delivered prolonged resuscitation to Gormley and he was eventually picked up by a National Guard helicopter, but did not survive the ordeal.
