Four of the 24 animals rescued from a poorly ventilated, unsanitary and dangerous home in Middleborough are now recovering at the Brewster Animal Rescue League.
Officials say some of the dogs are going to have to go through behavioral evaluation in the hopes that they will be able to get a forever home.
Rescue officials say 19 of the animals are dogs. They also took a donkey.
Police say they got tips about the conditions at the commercial establishment.
