Brewster State Rep Tim Whelan has filed a measure that will name the new Cape Cod Rail Trail Bridge over Station Avenue in Yarmouth after the late Corporal Orie Sampson.
The Corporal from Yarmouth Port is still listed as Missing In Action from serving in battle during the Korean War. He was part of the 7th Infantry. He was 23 at the time.
Whelan says that the Corporal’s Valor has no expiration date and his bravery will always be remembered.
Whelan says he hopes passage of the bill will bring some closure for the family.
