The Barnstable County Emergency Preparedness Director says he has major concerns over the way the NRC is allowing a license transfer to Holtec International of the Plymouth Nuclear Power Station.
At issue is the new owner’s lack of emergency management.
Sean O'Brien will write to the NRC voicing his concerns over a lack of emergency oversight. Barnstable County Commissioners say they will join in the letter of concern.
He says the number of spent fuel rods that will be housed at the site is a major environmental concern as well as public safety concern.
