A bill on Beacon Hill would allow private transportation companies to report to the Federal Transit Authority their data just like transit authorities do in the state. The data is used to develop funding for a fiscal year. State Rep Sarah Peake says millions of additional federal transportation dollars are being left on the table. Under her bill any additional funding ---25 percent would go to the private reporting entity. The bill currently in the legislature.
