A South Yarmouth woman has been honored as an Unsung Heroine in the state by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.
Debbie Bearse was nominated by State Rep Tim Whelan who he says through her volunteerism on behalf of many civic groups including the Jimmy Fund and Cape Cod veterans groups.
She was honored at ceremonies headed by the Lt. Governor Karyn Polito. Her daughter flew in from San Diego to be with her mom.
