The Air Force is trying to determine the extent of a currently 75-hundred foot long, 25-hundred foot wide stretch of contaminated water.
It is stretching from the Otis Rotary to Hen Cove. At issue is whether the contamination has anything to do with P-FAS.
Air Force officials say they would like to drill into the water to determine what it is. They have not received all the permissions yet.
Meanwhile, officials are looking to have shellfish tested just to make sure it is safe.
