Vineyard Wind says it is seeking proposals to implement whale-monitoring systems in its offshore wind area off the coast of Massachusetts. The company says it is working to protect the critically-endangered North Atlantic right whale during construction and operations of its wind energy facility. Vineyard Wind is seeking tech firms or academic institutions to provide and put into use enhanced acoustic monitoring systems so that vessel speed restrictions and other protective measures can be put in place.
