A lawsuit filed after a woman lost a leg in a moped accident on Martha's Vineyard is being dismissed. That action was taken in Dukes County Superior Court on Wednesday regarding a lawsuit filed against the town of Oak Bluffs, which claimed the town was negligent by ignoring a bylaw that said rental facilities had to have a proper training track for citizens to test the vehicles. The suit was filed by Noelle Lambert, then a 19-year-old student at the University of Massachusetts Lowell who rented a moped from Ride-On Mopeds and collided with an oncoming truck in 2016. The town claimed it had immunity under state law.
