Efforts Continuing To Save Academy Of Performing Arts

The Academy of Performing Arts in Orleans is working through financial issues that are threatening teacher paychecks and the school's future.
Supporters and attendees of the academy's dance and music program have been meeting to come up with fundraisers and sponsorships.
School officials say the academy was tens of thousands in dollars in debt when the academy playhouse theater was closed last December.
Plans are in place to re-open the historic theater in early May and to bring in outside organizations to create a new programming mix.
