The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Committee, after reviewing the submitted nominations, has chosen Falmouth’s 2019 Citizen of the Year, Laura Lorusso Peterson.
Mrs. Peterson, President of Cape Cod Aggregates Corp., has been a recipient of the Community No Guff Award, is a board member and volunteer of the Falmouth Service Center, serves on Cape Cod Five’s Human Need and Economic Donation Advisory Committee, is a supporter of Jack’s Pact-Falmouth, Independence House, Calmer Choice, the Community Health Center of Cape Cod and volunteers with the Falmouth Military Support Group.
Mrs. Peterson has been lauded for her volunteer service to the Falmouth Public Schools as a Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) mentor and her service on the Teaticket PTO as a volunteer and past president. She has served on the Falmouth School Committee and, along with other members of her family, was recognized in 2016 by the Falmouth Education Foundation for her dedication to the Falmouth community.
Laura Lorusso Peterson is a past member of the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and has been a Falmouth Town Meeting Member since 2006.
