About MBCC: In Massachusetts, breast cancer incidence rates are 12% higher than the national average, which estimates that 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Only 5-10% of breast cancers are associated with the high-risk BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition is the only advocacy breast cancer non-profit working towards the prevention of environmental causes of the disease. This work is made possible through fundraising events like the Run for Prevention.
