It was a busy Monday for Wareham Police.
It started early when, just after midnight, police responded to Shenanigan’s Bar and Grill for a reported disturbance. Following an on-scene investigation, officers arrested 39-year old Michael Ravida of Wareham and charged him with two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. Ravida allegedly used a wooden pole to hit two individuals following an argument. Ravida was arraigned in Wareham District Court.
About twelve hours later, around noontime, two Wareham officers went to a residence in West Wareham to place a male in custody on a court warrant. That individual put up a struggle, allegedly punching one officer and kicking the other.
The suspect, 28-year old Robert Mahan of West Wareham, continued to struggle until he was secured in the police cruiser. Mahan is being charged with assault and battery on a police officer – 2 counts, Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Disorderly conduct, Disturbing the peace, and Resisting arrest.
He was arraigned in Wareham District Court.
