State Police Ask Public’s Help

There was a fatal accident on Route 195 Southbound early this morning just prior to the Route 28 Exit in Wareham.
State Police arriving at the scene around 4:45 A.M. found a Nissan Titan pickup truck with heavy front end damage.
The front seat passenger was a 48 year old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the pickup was transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham for treatment of his injuries.
Police have not identified the victims at this point.
A preliminary investigation has determined that a large construction dump truck was the second vehicle involved in that accident and left the area moments after the crash.
The dump truck reportedly has a gray body and steel tailgate and is likely to have sustained damage to the driver side rear of the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the accident or dump truck is urged to call the State Police barracks in Bourne or contact State Police Detectives in the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
