Hyannis Man Facing Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

A Hyannis man is facing charges of possessing and trafficking fentanyl after he was stopped for speeding in South Yarmouth.

Yarmouth Police report the Proactive Anti-Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on Long Pond Drive around 11 a.m. for traveling 47 miles per hour in a posted 25 miles per hour zone.

The operator of the vehicle was found to be in possession of 25 grams of Fentanyl and $953 in cash.

Christopher Dietrick, 29, of Barnstable Road in Hyannis was booked at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and taken to Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
