A Marstons Mills man has been sentenced to two years in the county house of correction after pleading guilty to assault and battery on a police officer and strangulation or suffocation.
38-year old Dorian Firth, in May, entered Cape Cod Hospital demanding meds and threatening people. Firth was seen walking on Main Street in Hyannis later that night, apparently impaired and was taken into protective custody by Barnstable Police. Once at BPD Headquarters, Firth threatened to kill an officer and then attacked a second officer who arrived on the scene to provide backup.
In addition to two years in the house of correction, Firth was sentenced to two years of probation and will undergo testing to make sure he remains alcohol and drug-free.
