Summer may be long gone but officials in Chatham are still contemplating what to do about the great white sharks that take up residence off Cape Cod beaches in the warm weather.
Selectmen have endorsed a proposal to consider barriers, including netting, to keep the sharks and their favorite food – seals – away from the swimming area at Oyster Pond Beach. Other possible solutions, including the culling of the seal population, will be explored ahead of the summer of 2019.
