Cape Cod Cares for the Troops will hold its 11th Annual Christmas Care Package party on Saturday, from 10am-4pm, at The Sports Authority building, 790 Iyannough Road in Hyannis.
One thousand to 15-hundred Christmas Care packages will be assembled and mailed to our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can help by collecting supplies for the care packages, make a monetary donation to help with the cost of shipping, or volunteer that weekend to help pack care packages.
Cape Cod Cares for the Troops was started eleven years ago by then 12-year-old Dylan DeSilva. His vision was to send weekly care packages to our troops. Since then, Dylan has sent more than 33,000 care packages to our troops!
Dylan’s mother, Michelle DeSilva says the cost of supplies and shipping the packages exceeds $25,000 dollars and their goal has not been met as of yet.
Cape Cod Cares for the Troops is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization with 100% of donations going directly to support our Troops, Veterans, Wounded Warriors and Gold Star Families. For more information, visit their web site at capecod4thetroops.com.
