The “closed for repairs” sign has been posted on Highland Light, the iconic lighthouse in North Truro.
The Cape Cod National Seashore announced the first week of September that the lighthouse would be opened to visitors through October 21 but would then close to undergo major rehabilitation through 2019.
According to the CCNS notice, cracks and spalling bricks and other structural and safety issues will be repaired during the upcoming $1.2m rehabilitation project. The lighthouse will remain closed through 2019.
