Representative Timothy Whelan (R-Brewster) announced Monday that his campaign for re-election has been endorsed by the Massachusetts Organization of State Engineers and Scientists (MOSES). With over 3,300 members serving the Commonwealth's citizens in a variety of career fields, including wage enforcement, water quality scientists, regional planners, environmental engineers, hazardous materials team members, and civil and construction engineers, MOSES members have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Massachusetts.
In announcing this endorsement, MOSES President Joseph Dorant stated, "We are proud to stand with you as you continue to fight for working families, stand with us on labor issues, and advocate to improve our transportation infrastructure. Your leadership on important issues supporting state workers, whether it be maintaining strong collective bargaining rights for public employees or OSHA safety standards for all public workers, make you the clear choice for our endorsement".
"I am very proud of the strong relationship President Dorant and I have built through my work as the Ranking member on the Joint Committee on Public Service and through his strong advocacy on behalf of his membership", Rep. Whelan said in a statement. "I am honored to have the support and endorsement of the hard working women and men represented by MOSES, many of whom I have worked alongside during my nearly three decade career in public safety".
Representative Whelan's re-election campaign has been previously endorsed by the Massachusetts Coalition of Police, Massachusetts Nurses Association, Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Correctional Officers Federated Union, New England Police Benevolent Association, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and the local Fire Fighters unions in Barnstable, Brewster, Dennis, and Yarmouth.
Serving in his second term, he is the Ranking member on the Joint Committee on Public Service and also sits on the House Committee on Ways & Means and the Joint Committee on Higher Education.
