Gas Prices in Massachusetts Unchanged This Week

From AAA Northeast:

"Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA’s October 1 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.83 per gallon. The Massachusetts price is four cents lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.87. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 23 cents lower at $2.60.

“Despite a three-cent average increase nationally, gas prices in our area remain relatively stable,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “Right now, oil inventories are strong and demand is down. Analysts will be following recent jumps in crude oil prices to see if they have any impact for consumers at the pump.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 44 cents, from a low of $2.65 to a high of $3.09. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

Self Serve Grade

$2.83 ($2.65-$3.09) Regular Unleaded

$3.09 ($2.89-$3.49) Midgrade Unleaded

$3.26 ($2.99-$3.59) Premium Unleaded

$3.16 ($2.99-$3.39) Diesel
