How appropriate that a cat, missing for seven years, gets re-united with its owners on International Cat Day.
The story begins seven years ago, when an orange cat named Tigger escaped out of an open door. On July 31, Tigger was dropped off by an animal control officer at the new Marjorie and John McGraw Family Animal Resource and Adoption Center – a.k.a. the MSPCA-Cape Cod in Centerville.
Workers scanned for a microchip and discovered the feline’s identity and owner. An MSPCA spokesman says owner Rebecca Collins West of Dennis never imagined having her cat back.
The nonprofit posted on its Facebook page about the homecoming, saying Collins West picked up Tigger a few hours after he was found.
