New Father a Victim in Double-Fatal in Cotuit

A police chase that started in Mashpee after midnight Saturday morning ended in a horrific crash in Cotuit that killed two of the occupants in the pursued vehicle.

In a statement released by Cotuit Fire Chief, Paul Rhude:

"Cotuit Fire received a call for a motor vehicle crash with multiple patients, entrapment, a car fire and patient ejection. Engines were dispatched from the Mashpee and Marstons Mills Stations and ambulances from the Cotuit, Mashpee and Centerville Stations.

Upon location we found a two car accident with three patients. One vehicle was a large SUV with a single occupant, Kevin Quinn, 32, of Mashpee, who was pinned in the vehicle. Quinn Quinn was heading home from Cape Cod Hospital where his wife had recently delivered a newborn baby daughter. Quinn was extricated with the jaws of life and transported in a Cotuit Ambulance to the South Shore Hospital where they later died. The second vehicle was a Toyota passenger car which was split in two in the collision. The two occupants, Mickey Rivera, 22, of Fall River and Jocelyn Goyette, 24, of New Bedford, were ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle was on fire. Rivera was an obvious fatality and not transported and Goyette was transported in a Centerville ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital and later transferred to a Boston with life threatening injuries.

Barnstable and Mashpee police were on scene and assisted in patient treatment and extricated.
