A Nantucket teenager is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted a man, punching him repeatedly until he fell to the ground and then stomping on his head.
According to the Inquirer and Mirror, Alex Small, 18, of 24 Essex Road was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of Assault and Battery from the July 22 incident.
A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Small was ordered to stay away from the victim and return to court October 9 for a pre-trial hearing.
A Nantucket Police report says officers were called to Lyons Lane around midnight on Saturday for a report of an unconscious male. The man had regained consciousness by the time the officers arrived. The officers say the man had numerous lacerations to his face and two chipped teeth. Witnesses indicated Small had punched him several times, knocking him unconscious.
